Another World

The world we had created.

What are the Implications of Oil Withdrawal?

Where were the Geologist when oil was discovered? It appears that drill first ask questions later was the mentality, as the journey to the west endured. Science lost this battle, and just perhaps the earth will take its revenge.

Greed overtook science and this great tragedy could be our ultimate demise. The earth will surely endure as it has, however life on the surface has proven to perish time and time again. It is common knowledge that everything has a purpose in this closed system we call the Earth. We know that if we were to go and remove all of the plankton from the sea it would destroy the base of the food chain. This in turn would eventually move right on to us and annihilate the human population entirely. As when the plankton disappear it sets off a chain reaction that leads straight to us.

It is ironic the topic I was not even set to write about fell right into my lap. As right now millions of gallons of oil are pouring right into the ocean killing massive amounts of plankton. However what other implications are there? Are we really willing to say that oil has no purpose to the stability of the planet?

If we were to drain all of the magma from the interior of the earth it would destroy our magnetic protection. This destruction of the earths magnetic field would allow cosmic radiation to decimate life on this planet. As the field would steadily weaken as we took more and more material from the interior of the Earth. I could go on, if we removed the fungus from the forest ecosystem it would crash as well, and the implications would spread around the globe. If we took the source of Iron from plants we would not even be here. On that note, without Iron we would not be here period.

Major Disasters to come as Implications of Oil Withdraw are not fully Understood!

So why is oil different? It would seem that big business would not want a crucial study of the implications of oil withdraw. So what if the implications are a grave a threat to life on this planet as removing the Iron from the core of our planet? Would you not want to know? Are we saying that oil was placed in the earth simply to make a few men filthy rich? I bet they think that it is from god for the sole purpose to make them rich. So remove it all.

It is common knowledge that Earthquakes are associated with deep well oil drilling. If oil is like every other system on this planet you can take a little, however when you reach a point major implications will manifest. The results of these implications would be loss of life and man made disasters. Could we be hitting that point right now? Could it be that the porous rock in which the oil is stored acts as a lubricant for the moving of the tectonic plates? How about the increased heat from the lack of oil creates an up stir in volcanic activity? Perhaps eventually leading to the ill fated Super Volcanic Eruption itself? The answer is no one knows, as no one bothered to study it. Is it a good idea to simply find out the hard way I guess. Perhaps we will as I see no end to this insanity.

The Future We Had Created!

Lacking Means of Innovation. Leads To Man Made Destruction.

Why do we harvest ancient sunlight still anyway? When we have the ability to harvest current sunlight in better ways than we see today. The Oil corporations plan on using all of the oil, and then moving on to the other energy sources. I feel this is a very detrimental ill fated disastrous idea, with long lasting implications to life on this planet.

I do not know a human being that would agree with this statement. Yes there is a chance it could destroy mankind and create major despair for life on this planet, but we just don't know, so oh well. This is just like playing with fire however this fire has the potential to burn us all; burn us all to our deaths.

Should we not all have a vote considering this is such a major issue? We can only hope that we have not reached that threshold yet, however with major earthquakes coming more frequently it may not even matter. As CNN reported, "the massive earthquake that struck Chile last week might have shifted the Earth's axis and created shorter days, scientists at NASA say". So perhaps it is, too late.

Wow, your hub was amazing. Before reading your article, I had thought more about the oil spill and its devastating effects on the life on the top of the planet. I never really considered its impact inside of the planet, and how detrimental it will be in the bigger picture.

Yes it is ironic I started this hub before the oil spill. We are in real trouble right now, this is really not good.
